Resident Company storyteller Craig Jenkins is living and working at the Kattaikuttu school in Kanchipuram, India until March 2010.  The school trains children from impoverished backgrounds in traditional storytelling theatre techniques and they can then earn a living as performers.  Craig will be both teaching and telling English stories to the pupils while studying the traditional techniques himself.

He will be also be touring to Chennai and Bangalore, performing as a storyteller in association with the Hippocampus Book Council.

Previously, other VNC storytellers Emily Parrish and Ffion Wyn Evans have visited the school, and Ffion's lovely photo of the pupils dancing is shown here.
