Vayu Naidu's Ramayana was performed at the Barbican Concert Hall, London as part of a Diwali Triumph of Light concert in the presence of the High Commissioner of India to the UK, H.E. Mr. Nalin Surie.
Accompanied by world percussionist, Colin Seddon and a carnatic violinist, Jyotsna Srikanth, the performance was described by an Arts Council Assessment as “a real pleasure to behold” with “beautiful”, “hypnotic” and “fluid” storytelling. The review wrote the use of musicians “underscored the emotions of the drama and brought out the tensions at each stage of the saga”. And "national treasure" Vayu Naidu held the audience “spell bound with the rich beauty inherent in the words of her stories”.
Below is a clip showing part of Ramayana. The full version of the timeless Sanskrit classic is available on DVD.
