Nine Nights

The Ramayana is the best-known Hindu epic in the world. In its original forms it comprises a story in seven cantos (sections) about Prince Rama and his wife Sita; their meeting, marriage, exile, deceptions, struggle for justice, discovering unimaginable loyalty, a war, and the ordeals of peace keeping. Finally we are left with a glimmer of hope: that we are beings of light. It is this light that enables us to love and endure the human condition.

Often Storytellers would tell stories from the Ramayana over the nine nights that led up to the festival of light famously recognised as Diwali. We condense nine nights into one to bring you a star cast of complex characters and interconnected relationships: a family drama of husbands and wives, fathers and sons, brothers and in-laws, unconventional friendships, grand delusions, pettiness, forgiveness, life changes, and finding harmony. It mirrors life.
