Vayu Naidu combines her skills of the craft of storytelling and creating ensemble work with actors of Shakespeare’s text and Indian performance artists. The exploration of rasa (Indian aesthetics – emotive consciousness) with Shakespeare is through three dramatic points from Shakespeare’s history: tragedy; comedy and reconciliation. The equality of respect and learning is mutually heightened through the contextualising of Shakespeare in Chennai. Through new ways of working it will enable British actors and Indian performers to be challenged, pushing the frontiers of the understanding of their craft.
